VISION

To provide a community-driven response to serving our neighborhood families and individuals impacted by the sudden changes to the federal government, including federal workers, contractors, and those within related industries.

Desired Outcomes

  • Help affected workers pivot to new opportunities and thrive in all aspects of their individual and family lives. 

  • Leverage existing resources and expertise within our community to maintain and improve our residents’ quality of life.

  • Help connect individuals with physical, emotional, and career-related resources, including: 

    • Peer support for navigating the transition

    • Job, career, and resume support

    • Experts across our networks

    • Local resources and response

    • Information about important resources and events happening across the District

Code of Conduct

Anyone participating as a volunteer or requesting services agrees to the community code of conduct.

Respect & Inclusivity

  • Treat all members, volunteers, and participants respectfully and kindly, regardless of background, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or socioeconomic status.

  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

  • Reject discriminatory language, harassment, or any form of exclusionary behavior.

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Respect the privacy of all members and participants. Do not share personal information without consent.

  • Keep confidential discussions about members' employment status, financial situations, or personal challenges.

  • Ensure that any data collected (such as contact details) is securely stored and only used for organizational purposes.

Professionalism & Ethical Conduct

  • Engage in honest and transparent communication with all members and stakeholders.

  • Refrain from conflicts of interest, including using the effort for personal gain or business promotion.

  • Positively represent the community at all times.

Safe & Supportive Environment

  • Create a safe space where members feel comfortable sharing experiences and seeking support.

  • Report any inappropriate behavior, harassment, or violations of this code to the leadership team (i.e. organizing board).

  • Avoid aggressive, demeaning, or inappropriate behavior in both online and in-person interactions.
